Seven competitors in the Swift Sport Championship made the trip to Belgium where round one winner Dave Bellerby (Northallerton) returned to the winner’s circle and extended his championship points lead with his second event victory of the year.

Bellerby was fastest in all three qualifying heats and led the A final from the start to take the win. Behind him things were less clear cut and second qualifier Tony Lynch (Wigan) slipped back to sixth place after an incident in the first lap that also affected Steve Cozens who finished seventh.

Ryan Lawford (Canterbury) climbed to second place and finished the race just over a second down on Bellerby. Steve Hill also gained a place in the final, moving from fourth in the grid to finish third ahead of Darren Scott (Faversham) and championship promoter Peter Gwynne (Brackley) who made his first appearance in the series.
